About the author
Born and raised in the Central Valley of California, DJ currently resides in Los Angeles. From a young age, he fell in love with being on stage. Surrounded by a small but mighty community that valued the arts, he was able to pursue his passions in the performing arts and creative writing throughout his childhood.
Upon graduating from college, he lived in Taiwan, Vietnam, and Mexico before returning to the U.S. for graduate school. After a year and a half of being unemployed, he moved to L.A. and began go-go dancing to make ends meet. His debut book, “Go-Go Boy: Memoirs from the Kitchen Floor to the Dance Floor,” chronicles his experiences as a go-go dancer and the tumultuous year before his move to L.A.
When he isn’t writing or dancing, he enjoys staying active, hiking, studying languages, singing with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, and kicking ass at trivia nights.
This is his first book, but certainly won’t be the last one.
